Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information InteractInk collects, why we collect it, how we protect it, how long we keep it, and the choices you have. We have written it in plain language. If anything is unclear, contact us and we will explain it.
Last updated November 1, 2026Information we collect
- Account information Your email address, username and password. Your username is public. Your password is never stored in plain text; it is hashed by our authentication provider.
- Content you create Posts, replies, messages, images, video, and profile details such as display name, bio, profile picture and banner.
- Technical information IP address and basic request data, processed by our hosting and database providers to deliver the service, keep it secure, and enforce bans.
- Cookies and local storage Used to keep you signed in and remember settings such as theme and language.
- Subscription and payment information If you buy a paid plan, our payment provider Polar (the merchant of record) collects your payment details and billing information on its own checkout. We never see or store your full card number. We receive and store only your plan, billing interval, subscription status, renewal and cancellation dates, and the identifiers needed to link the subscription to your account.
- Usage and advertising data Google Analytics and Google AdSense may use cookies and similar technologies. In the EEA, UK and Switzerland we only use analytics and personalized-advertising cookies after you consent through Google's consent message, and you can change your choice at any time with Privacy settings in the footer of any page. Elsewhere, analytics are on by default and we treat a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser as an opt-out. If you decline, Google tags may still receive limited signals that do not use cookies. Google services for advertising and translation (see below) may collect information about how you use the site and about your device.
How we use information
We use information to run the service (sign-in, posting, messaging, notifications), keep it secure, prevent abuse and enforce our rules, understand how the site is used so we can improve it, and show advertising that helps fund it. We do not sell your personal information.
Safety and moderation
To keep the community safe, reports are reviewed by moderators and posts and uploaded media may be reviewed by moderators and checked with automated tools for spam, illegal or harmful content. Illegal content, including child sexual abuse material, is reported to the relevant authorities.
Service providers and third parties
We rely on a short list of providers that process data on our behalf:
- Cloudflare Hosts the site, delivers it and handles incoming web requests, stores uploaded images and videos (R2 storage), and provides the Turnstile bot check used at sign-up and sign-in. Turnstile may process technical signals about your browser and device.
- Supabase Provides our database, authentication and file storage. Your account, posts, messages and subscription status are stored here.
- Polar Our payment provider and merchant of record for paid plans. It processes your payment and billing details and sends us subscription status updates. See Polar's privacy policy.
- GIPHY Provides the GIF picker. Searching for GIFs sends your search term and request data (such as your IP address) to GIPHY through our server, and GIFs are loaded from GIPHY.
- jsDelivr A content delivery network from which we load a JavaScript library. Like any web request, this exposes your IP address to the provider.
- Google (Analytics, AdSense and Translate) Used for site analytics, advertising, optional page translation, and the consent message shown in the EEA, UK and Switzerland. Google may use cookies or similar technologies; see Google's privacy policy and your Google ad settings for choices.
Advertising and Google AdSense
InteractInk shows advertising to help cover its running costs. Ads are served by Google AdSense.
- Cookies for ads Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to InteractInk and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- Your choices You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info.
- Visitors in the EEA, UK and Switzerland We use a consent management platform provided by Google that supports the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework (TCF) to ask for your choice. Personalized ads and the cookies they rely on are only used with your consent. You can accept, refuse or change your choice at any time, and refusing is as easy as accepting. Use Privacy settings in the footer of any page to reopen the message. If you do not consent, you may still see ads that are not personalized.
- Visitors in the United States Depending on your state, you may have the right to opt out of targeted advertising. See US state privacy rights. You can use Google Ads Settings, aboutads.info, Privacy settings in the footer where it is shown, or a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser.
- More information To learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services, see How Google uses data when you use our partners' sites or apps.
We do not sell your personal information.
Payments and subscriptions
Paid plans are processed by Polar. Your payment card details go directly to Polar and are never stored by InteractInk. We keep a record of your plan, status and renewal dates so we can give you the right features, and we may keep basic billing records as long as needed for accounting, tax, fraud prevention and legal obligations, even after you delete your account. To manage or cancel a subscription use Manage subscription on the plans page; Polar's privacy policy covers the data it holds.
How long we keep information
Account data, posts and media are kept while your account exists. When you delete a post, reply or your account, the record is removed from our live database. Copies may remain in backups for a short period until those backups rotate out. We may keep limited records where needed to enforce bans, prevent abuse or meet legal obligations.
Security
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, row-level access controls on our database, and encryption of direct messages in your browser, and we only accept subscription updates that carry a verified signature from our payment provider to protect your information. No online service can guarantee perfect security, so please use a strong, unique password and keep your login details private.
Your choices and rights
- Access Most of your data is visible in your account. You can request a full copy by email.
- Correction Update your profile, email or password at any time in Settings.
- Deletion Delete posts and replies yourself, or delete your whole account in Settings. Deletion removes your profile, posts and uploaded media from the live site.
To make a request, email support@interactink.com. We will respond as promptly as we can. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law, and we will honor them where they apply.
US state privacy rights
If you live in California (CCPA/CPRA), Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas, Utah or another US state with a consumer privacy law, you may have these rights, subject to the exceptions in your state's law:
- Know and access Ask what personal information we collect, use and disclose, and get a copy.
- Delete and correct Ask us to delete or correct personal information we hold about you.
- Opt out of targeted advertising We do not sell personal information for money. Showing interest-based ads through Google AdSense can count as "sharing" or "targeted advertising" under some state laws. To opt out, use Google Ads Settings, www.aboutads.info, or Privacy settings in the footer where it is shown, or turn on Global Privacy Control in your browser, which we treat as an opt-out request.
- No discrimination We will not treat you differently for using these rights.
In the last 12 months we have collected identifiers (email address, username, IP address), content you post, and internet activity (how you use the site), and used them to run the service, keep it safe and show advertising. To make a request, email support@interactink.com. We may need to verify your identity. If we decline a request you can appeal by replying to our response, and an authorized agent may act for you with your written permission.
International users and data transfers
InteractInk is used worldwide, and our providers may process data in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers. If you are in the EEA, UK or similar regions you may also have rights under the GDPR / UK GDPR to object to or restrict processing, to data portability, and to complain to your local data protection authority.
Legal bases (EEA and UK). We process data to perform our contract with you (running your account), with your consent (analytics cookies and personalized ads, which you can withdraw at any time), for our legitimate interests (security, abuse prevention and moderation), and to meet legal obligations (such as billing records). InteractInk is the data controller; contact support@interactink.com.
Direct messages and media
Direct messages are encrypted in your browser before they are stored, and optional key backups are stored in encrypted form so you can restore them on another device. Images and videos you upload are compressed in your browser and stored with our storage providers, and public posts and their media can be seen by anyone who can open the post.
Children's privacy
InteractInk is not directed at children, and account holders must be old enough to consent to online services in their country. We do not knowingly collect data from children below that age. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
Changes to this policy
If we make a meaningful change, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use InteractInk after a change means you accept the updated policy.
